Titanium Upgrades

I told myself before buying a Brompton that I wouldn't waste my money on upgrades but instead, save to earn back what I lost in buying this precious gem. I must say that my resistance is so weak because after 2 weeks, I bought these titanium parts from Tipartsworkshop and Kamoya. They look very very nice. Here are some of their pictures out of their package.

a pair of titanium wheels

A pair of hinge clamps

a metallic gray Kamoya suspension

a pair of titanium plates

You might ask why do I need these upgrades. Well, I ask myself too. They are lighter than the stock parts but you wouldn't feel the difference unless you upgrade your B triangle, fork, and seatpost.

After receiving the package full of these parts, I immediately ran at the nearest and most trusted bike shop to have them installed.

This is my favorite upgrade so far. The change from stock to this pair of titanium wheels made my B a lot cooler. It is also an important upgrade for me since I roll my B most of the time because of its weight. You can choose other colors like cinnamon, black, and gold. Silver matches my B the most.

Another upgrade I did with Blake is his suspension. From stock, I had Kamoya Suspension in metallic gray installed. My advisor suggested this brand specifically, he said that it is the best suspension for a Brompton so I ordered it right away. You can feel the changes when you had yours changed, I can't describe how it was.

The last upgrade I did was changing the hinge clamps and plates to Tipartsworkshop products. They look more elegant than the stock plastic clamps and steel plates. Again, they only made my B lighter for a few grams. Hehe.

Well I do not call this an upgrade because I did not change anything or made my B a lot more powerful but instead, I just installed a front carrier block ( HAHA, FYI.. I do not have the moolah to purchase a Brompton Bag)

The last but not the least, whole body shot of Blake with his upgrades

If you need any help from purchasing Tipartsworkshop, Brompfication, BikeFUN, and other parts, just send me an e-mail and I'll help you out. Happy riding!

Beep beep!

Be safe, be heard!
Bikes are hardly noticed when mingled with cars and buses. We are the ones who usually adjust for them because they are bigger and more powerful. Blake came with a built in bell within it's shifters but it was not enough. The sound of the bell does not even get noticed by people, what more by cars? Because safety is my number one priority, I decided to buy and install a Hornit db140.

Hornit db140 is an astounding 140 decibel cycle horn. It comes with a remote button for easy access.

Here are the pictures of the Hornit.

Uses 2 x AAA batteries which lasts for 6-12 months (6 x 1 second blast a day)

Hornit has two kinds of sound. With the button below, it can be interchanged depending what sound you would like to use.

For size comparison, I took a picture of the Hornit beside a pen. You may find it big but the advantage is having a powerful cycle horn.

The Hornit does not work without its remote. I like the remote best because it is really easy for me to access it. I can adjust it to the most comfortable place my thumb wants it to be.

To demonstrate how the button works, I placed it on my iphone. It would work the same with your grip. It is stretchable so would perfectly snug itself.

I was not able to take a picture of the mount so I grabbed one on the internet.

They are very easy to install; I myself is a newbie but I was able to install it properly.
PS: I just started biking last month. Hahaha

UP NEXT>>> I will post a video to show and let you guys hear the Hornit's two kinds of sound.

Be safe, be heard fellas! :)

Nutcase Helmet

I love my brain!

I am a real believer of a no helmet no ride policy. It is for our own safety that we must wear a durable helmet EVERY single time. I am one of those people who do not like wearing them but these past few days, I've been hearing and seeing accidents in different social media sites involving cyclists. Luckily, those people wear their helmets so the damage were just minimal.

I've been eyeing for cute helmets suited for a girl like me. I do not want those typical pointed helmets; thus, I got my self a skater type helmet. It is a rounded helmet made for skaters but can be worn by cyclists.
One of the famous brands my friends suggested is Nutcase. They retail for 70$ on their website, but I bought it here in the Philippines for Php 2,788.00 which is quire near.

Nutcase packages the helmet in an environment friendly way but still very attractive to consumers. Here are some pictures.

These are the other things that came with the package.

A lime green baller (not in the pic), visor, extra pads, and manual.

This helmet features a magnetic buckle so you guys won't be having a hard time unbuckling and buckling the helmet.

An adjustable/removable dial is built within this helmet for a perfect snug.

This Nutcase helmet gives us soft paddings inside for a comfortable ride - short or long.

When the visor is attached, it looks like this..

If you guys like the Nutcase helmet, visit Coolstuff168PH for a very good price with very friendly staffs (if you're in the Philippines) and check them out via their official website at Nutcase Helmets.

Have a safe ride, guys! :)

Afternoon Spin

Rode with Blake for 7.5 kilometers. It was hot during the afternoon but I managed to arrive at Abucay. I am still adjusting shifting gears because I was used to shifting gears with my Tern before. So far, so good :)

This is what I love best with my Brompton. The fold is amazingly compact and beautiful. Those are the three stages of how Blake folds. The first one is its park mode since Bs do not come with stands/kickstands. The second one is where you can roll and pull the bike wherever you want it to be. Some people call this fold as shopping mode. The last is the most compact of all where you can carry it anywhere you want. It is kinda heavy but upgrading to titanium parts will make it lighter. Get ready because they’re expensive, really expensive.

Brompton

Nothing more to say, I really love their logo. MINIMALISTIC

Other Accessories

Here are the pictures of Blake with his other accessories. The Bromfoot 2 was added to widen the pedal. As you can see, there is a leather cover on his frame as well as on the other parts of Blake. These were made by LeatherManila to avoid these parts from being scratched. They are very prone from scratches because of how Blake folds.
